Mike Maddox

Mike Maddox

Mr. Maddox has served as President and CEO of the Company since June 1, 2020, and CEO of the Bank since November 28, 2008. He also served as President of the Bank from November 28, 2008 until July 1, 2022 when the roles of CEO and President of the Bank were split. Prior to joining the Bank, he was a Regional President for Intrust Bank. In this role, he managed Intrust Bank’s operations in Northeast Kansas. Mr. Maddox has over 18 years of banking experience. Mr. Maddox attended the University of Kansas from which he received a business degree in 1991 and a law degree in 1994. While at KU, Mr. Maddox was a four-year basketball letterman and a member of the KU team that won the National Championship in 1988. Mr. Maddox serves on the Kansas City Civic Council. He has served on the board of CrossFirst Bank since 2008. Mr. Maddox’s employment agreement grants him the right to be appointed as a director of the Company and the Bank.

Skills and Qualifications - In addition to the skills identified below under “Corporate Governance – Process for Nominating Directors – Skills and Experience,” Mr. Maddox was selected to serve on our Board of Directors because of his appointment as President and CEO of the Company and his significant banking leadership experience.

Randy Rapp
President, CrossFirst Bank
Randy Rapp

Randy Rapp has more than thirty-five years of commercial banking experience and is currently the President at CrossFirst Bank. In his role he has oversight of all markets, lines of business and credit. Mr. Rapp is also a member of the Bank Board, Executive Committee and helped take the company public in 2019.

Over his career he has worked as a Chief Risk Officer, Chief Credit Officer, credit underwriter, commercial relationship manager and credit approval officer for several banks in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Accounting in 1986 and Texas Christian University with an MBA in Finance in 1987. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Rapp is active in his community serving as president of the Fort Worth Longhorn Club, chair of the Board of University Christian Church, president of the Tarrant County Bankers Association, and chair of the Community Initiative and Core Allocations Committee of the Metropolitan Tarrant County United Way. Mr. Rapp and his wife, Lydia, were the founding chairs of the McCombs Parents’ Council at the University of Texas. Mr. Rapp also recently joined the Parkland Health Foundation Board of Directors.

Outside the bank, this Fort Worth native and Dallas resident enjoys spending time with family, traveling, skiing and attending The University of Texas sporting events.

Ben Clouse

Ben Clouse is Chief Financial Officer of CrossFirst Bankshares, Inc., leading the financial organization and overall long-range financial planning and reporting as well as supporting the execution of the bank’s growth strategy.

Prior to joining CrossFirst, Mr. Clouse was CFO of Waddell & Reed, Financial, Inc. (Waddell).  Waddell was the holding company for one of the oldest mutual fund companies in the United States (Ivy Funds) and a nationwide broker-dealer and investment advisor (Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors). 

Mr. Clouse began his career in the audit practice of Deloitte and has held successive roles of increasing responsibility across multiple financial disciplines in a variety of industries including financial services, banking, consumer retail and digital, and transportation.  Mr. Clouse obtained a business degree and a Master of Accountancy degree from Kansas State University and has been previously licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and previously designated as a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 27 Financial and Operations Principal license holder.
